When you use NutriCha, you're trusting us with your favorite recipes — and a bit of your personal info. That's a big deal, and we don't take it lightly.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Whether you're saving a recipe, sharing a collection, or importing your favorite dish, we believe your data — and your trust — deserve respect.

We built NutriCha to be simple, powerful, and personal. That includes how we handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

Email address (used for sign-in, account recovery, and collection invitations)
Display name or username
Avatar settings and preferences

App Usage Data

Recipes you save, favorite, rate, or import
Collections you create, edit, or share
Categories and cuisines you browse
Search terms and activity logs

Device and Technical Data

Device type, OS version, and anonymized identifiers
Crash reports and performance metrics
Push notification tokens (for collection invites and updates)

2. How We Use Your Information

Power core features like recipe import, collections, and sharing
Save your content and preferences to your account
Send collection invitations on your behalf via email
Deliver push and in-app notifications for sharing activity
Suggest relevant recipes and categories
Monitor usage trends to improve the app
Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse or fraud

3. Storage and Sharing of Data

Your data is securely stored using Firebase services, including Authentication, Firestore, and Analytics. These services help us run NutriCha reliably and securely.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Limited data may be shared with:

Firebase (Google) – for authentication, storage, analytics, and security enforcement
SendGrid (Twilio) – to deliver collection invitation emails on your behalf
Algolia – for fast recipe search indexing
Analytics tools – for understanding app usage patterns
Legal authorities – only when required by law, such as for law enforcement requests or fraud prevention

Note: While we never manually inspect your saved recipes or collection content, we cannot guarantee complete privacy, as recipe content is not end-to-end encrypted.

Recipe Accuracy Notice: NutriCha is meant for everyday cooking inspiration. Nutritional data, times, and ingredient amounts come from community submissions and imported sources. We do not independently verify this information — always use your best judgment, especially for dietary restrictions or allergies.

4. Your Privacy Controls

You can:

Edit your display name, avatar, and other account settings
Manage push notification preferences in iOS Settings
Remove members from your shared collections at any time
Request account deletion and data removal by contacting: privacy@nutricha.app

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and Firebase Security Rules to protect your data. While no system is entirely immune to breaches, we follow best practices to reduce risk and secure your content.

6. Children's Privacy

NutriCha is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware that personal data from a user under 13 has been collected, we will take steps to delete it immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in features, technology, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted in the app and/or on our website. Continued use of NutriCha means you accept the current version of the policy.
